NYC Theatrical Premiere, One Week Only!
Director/Cinematographer MALCOLM MURRAY
+ Writer/Star FLORIAN BROZEK + Producer LUCY BICKERTON
in person Friday, 8/12 and Saturday, 8/13

"The first thing you notice about BAD POSTURE is that it's unstudiedly cool: laid-back, observant and rather shady, it cares so little for your attention that you can't stop watching... Enforcing a consistently mellow tone with inspired musical choices, Mr. Murray creates a beguiling, visually rich canvas."
- Jeannette Catsoulis, THE NEW YORK TIMES (August 11, 2011)
"Immaculately shot! BAD POSTURE, the first narrative feature from director Malcolm Murray, is sure to unsettle those who prefer films to pass clear judgment on not-so-upstanding types, but it's hard not to admire such a drolly off-kilter pass at the domestic regionalist indie."
- Benjamin Mercer, THE VILLAGE VOICE (August 10, 2011)
"Deadpan hilarious, sneakily ambitious! A gentle, intelligent and relatively sweet movie about gun owners and potheads in the American southwest that doesn't feel like anything I've quite come across in recent DIY cinema."
- Brandon Harris, FILMMAKER MAGAZINE
"A nuanced, visually inventive vista of young life in Albuquerque. Violence and crime are in the air at all times, but the moments of greatest tension are handled with an ethereal grace that is part comic nihilism and part hopeful dream."
- Mark Elijah Rosenberg, ROOFTOP FILMS

BAD POSTURE is an edgy valentine to Albuquerque that director/cinematographer Malcolm Murray calls "a coming of age romance where no one comes of age and the romance is doomed from the start." Elegantly shot and credibly cast with real-life locals (who better for arms trading, weed dealing, and party breakdancing?), the leisurely neo-western hit of Rotterdam makes its New York theatrical premiere with a week-long run, August 12 - 18.
Graffiti artist Flo (writer Florian Brozek), newly fired from his job, is spending his summer wandering Albuquerque aimlessly with his best friend Trey. Together, they spend their days and nights pursuing Trey's illicit moneymaking schemes. But after his troublemaker pal implicates him in grand theft auto, Flo finds it difficult to shake his feelings of remorse and passion for the car's sexy owner Marissa. His unusual and darkly funny journey back to her takes us through the interior life and layered society of a truly singular environment.
93 minutes. In English. Presented in Blu-ray. Unrated.
